I just fired my 2 250w Radiums. I noticed that one is actually brighter than the other one. It's a subtle difference but I can see it. Why is this?? FYI I positioned the bulb nipples exactly the same in both. Is this just a matter of allowing them a breaking-in period??

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!!

Hi
I would contact vendor and get replacement ASAP. May be bad bulb or damage during shipping.

Bulbs may vary with color but brightness may be a more serious problem.

Yes I'm planning to contact Premium Aquatics on Monday. I must say it looks more like one bulb is burning a bit more blue than the other thus making it look like is burning a little bit dimmer. I initially thought it was the nipple position in the bulb but this was not it.

Is it normal for colors in the bulbs not to match exactly and have a tiny bit of variation?? This may just be my case.

Colors can definately vary between bulbs( hasn't been my experience with radiums however). Ballasts can definately affect both color & brightness.

I am running both bulbs from the same ballast. I flipped the plugs going into the ballast just to see. But I got the same result.
