Any Ideas how to get rid of mushrooms?

Your tank is too packed!!! Need to give away some SPS anyway or they will fight among themselves too. LOL

LOL I think I still have some more room for some very special sps...lol Yes the tank is growing very well.... It might have something to do with my new LED's...LOL Thanks

I have the same problem....mushrooms taking over the tank. Not much has worked...I've tried vinegar and that hot pepper stuff used for aiptasia. Vinegar works poorly, the hot pepper stuff not at all. Now I try injecting them with kalk paste...it kills maybe 20% of the ones I inject, which is better than any other method I've used. They're mainly a problem on my clams. I won't inject anything on those...I just pick up the clam and scrape off the shrooms with a razor blade, as best I can...while holding them underwater, of course.

has anyone tried injecting lemon juice? i heard somewhere here in one of the posts that lemon juice would work for aptasia and they're just like aptasia. They are hard to kill but lemon juice injection works for them.

Daisy probably has the best solution. And no they are not like aptasia. If you can't coax it of the rock then you have to shave off some of the rock so that all of the mushroom is removed. Most rock is soft enough so that a small pointy scissors can be used to nibble away at the rock.

Still at it.. plucking most of them but they seem to grow back.. Saved a few that grow from under the cement glue...lol Cant take the rock out cause then I will have to redesign my rock work and make many frags that I dont want to make... you know rocks on top of other rocks and they look so good and everything is happy in the tank even those silly mushrooms...

my mushrooms keep dying i had a rock covered with them and i changed my bulbs and they all died i have them about 3/4 up i am using kz bulbs am i frying them with bulbs all other coral and fish doing great and my tests are all godd except nitrate about 20 but its been that way all along

Gary you might be frying them, MH or T5's? I have mine under LED's and about 1/2 to 3/4 the way up the ones I want to kill or get rid of. But I have more on the lower part of the tank and they are all doing good but they are not making more cause then I would be cuting them up too...
Good luck, but like it goes in this hobby what works in my tank doesnt mean it will work in your tank!!!!

thanks tynman they were doing good till i changed the bulbs gonna lower what i have left and see what happens thanks gonna go thru this all over again going to put the tank in a wall i ordered two A I super blue leds they are on backorder so as soon as i get everything i need im gonna move the tank and go thru this all over again
