Trigger species tank..

Over the past few days, I've been contemplating setting up my 90 FOWLR as a species tank, with only one large(ish) fish.. I'm thinking either a puffer or trigger... with a few smaller fish such as damsels.

I don't have tons of experience with Triggers (I had a blue throat for a few months but that's about it).. but I've read quite a bit.

What Trigger will have the 'best' personality; and fit comfortably in my 90?

The Niger trigger imo but the Clown is more beautifull. Note individual fish have different personalities .

The Niger is a nice trigger, but it gets to 18inches and (IMHO) it's kind of a boring color. It'd be great if I had a large tank with other fish in addition to the Niger, though.

The niger trigger is one of the most underated triggers out there. It gets more beautiful the larger it gets. In addition, its teeth will get blood red as he gets larger. I love this trigger. Then again I love all triggers. The african/gold heart, blueline/fuscus, sargasm male. these are all awesome triggers. The queen trigger is absolutely a stunning adult but viscous. Unfortiunately, these all will eventually outgrow your tank. If you get them as juveniles they will be happy for a couple of years. However, unless you have plans for a larger tank i would pass

I like triggers too.. I have a niger and a blue throat in my reef unfortunately there are very few species that are reef safe that aren't too expensive or I would have more. All the triggers mentioned will be fine when small, but many of those will get more aggressive as they get larger...especially the queen, clown and undulated. As mentioned most will be fine for a few years....

My favorite trigger is the Piccaso Trigger just love that Fish.
