Are you talking about the "whitish" spots on the thermometer ? They are O2 bubbles being released from the algae on the thermometer.

Def. snail eggs. had some in my tank and the snails actually hatched. have baby snails everywhere and they are actually doing good and getting bigger.

i had black turbo snails in my tank and they didn't lay eggs, they actually spawned white haze into the water. little things flying everywhere. my corals went bananas!
