Tough ID???

Hey MR,

I think I have a tough ID for you. I have a few of these "polyps" on my rocks. I can only see them under the leds. They have like an orange color. They look cool. I dont know what they are. I can try getting another picture.

They dont even look like they have a stalk. Just the top part of a polyp.

Can you see it a night? i had something that sounds about the same but the only time i seen it was a night. no i never found out what it was.

Yeah only at night. under the blue lights.

I can't remember their name but I have a few in my tank. They only show up when lights are out and all you see is tips of tentacles. They are usually in a shaded area. As far as I know they are not harmful.

By the pic, im going to have to say probably bubble algae but what makes it hard to say that is because of the color. Orange is not usual in bubble algae. Another close up picture could do.

Hey skene, I just googled that coralimorphia and couldn't find anything on it. The link I got was a common mushroom.,, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corallimorpharia. Do you have Amy links on info to the pic you posted?

About 5 AM I woke up and rwmembered they are calls Ball anemones..and went back to sleep..lol
The balls on the tips can be white or orange. they are an interesting little critter and as long as you have the type that stay small, they won't bother anything. There was a thread here within the past couple of weeks about them (that I cannot find now)

I was just looking for more info on them. I seen those things growing all over live rock in a lfs down here and when I asked the guy working there, he didn't know a damn thing about them. I've never seen them before I moved to Florida.
