I've have reef tanks for a few years and have seen eggs and whatnot on my glass from time to time but I've never seen this... any ideas? It's hard to see but it looks like 2 giant pods connected by clear fishing line, sorry I can't describe it better lol. pics will be up in a min....

Maybe take one of them out of the tank to take a pic of it? Your camera is focusing on whats in the tank behind the unidentified hitch hiker.

I'd really like to know what it is too :)

Is it connecting gossamer like strings with some kind of circle/ or oval shape connected?

That's what it looks like to me.
If so, then it looks like nerite eggs. I have those in my tank and they lay spidery patterns that are very spread out compared to when my nerites lay eggs.

or some kind of snail. I have 3 or 4 types in my tank but usually attribute that pattern to the nerites

It doesn't quite look like that unless your photo is very zoomed in? I do have a few types of snails so maybe it is something along those lines...

Kathy, I was away for the weekend and most of them disappeared again so I couldn't get one out of the tank to take a pic. Just to note though that it's not a hitchhiker in my opinion, it's definitely some sort of reproductive larvae or eggs or something :)
