Hi Guys,

I forgot the name of this coral that I got last summer. Its a pretty cool coral that is constantly changing shapes and sometimes colors. It has a stony base where it will completely retract into if it is irritated or disturbed enough. It doesnt sting and is quite peaceful.

I forgot the name of it and was hoping that someone on here can help id it?

I looked up meat and donut corals on google and it does look like them. They also said its technical term is Acanthophyllia Deshasyesiana.

Does anyone else have one of thiese? mine is getting so big, its very entertaining to watch.

For a while they were being labeled as a meat coral or doughnut scoly etc but they are not a scoly at all they are their own genus Acanthophyllia which is a fairly new term in the hobby. Awesome corals I had one last year.

P.S. I hope things have improved since last we spoke.
