whats this on my acro?!

hey so i got the acro like this from the lfs store, i really liked it but they had no idea what kind it was of course lol.

when i got home i realized on the base there was a hard shell like covering the bottom half of it :/ any one know what it is?

Its hard to tel but it looks like its bleached on the one side. The pic is sideways and Im talking about the frag in the middle of the pic

thats not a hard shell its STNing.thats the corals skeleton. doesnt look good

it dont look like its going to make it man. its not bleaching its dying. you can try and frag the good pieces but its not a guarantee it will live

as long as your water parameters are good they should be fine...I would frag the tops off above the RTNing line into good tissue and re-glue them to the plug...hopefully you may safe it....even if you leave it alone the RTNing may stop on it's own, but you will have the dead skelton showing which will get covered with algae...
