Something on my clam

Clam has been thriving ever since i got him. A month or so gaga i notice a few tube type things on his shell but dismissed it as normal clam thing. Today was the first day since i owned him that he hasn't opened up. Was hoping someone could identify these tubes and let me know if this is something i should scrape off him.....or should i just let him be.
