Hi, I got this from a friend recently in very bad condition as you can see in the pic. Anyone know what it is? Thank you

Thing looks pretty good to me,can't believe how closed or how blind I am from that first picture. Alright, I would say it's symphyllia agaricia don't hold me to the spelling. Looks good, leave it where it is if it continues to open like that. Give it some space away from your other corals they have some sweepers, few inches or so should be fine for now.

Haha, that's like crazy closed. I'm happy you posted other pics and didn't listen to me. I don't think I have ever saw one with that much exposed skeleton and open so well. It looked like skeleton, cyano and maybe a snot of flesh lol Think I've saw it all, my mistake. Keep us updated.

Lol.... he was actually going to throw it out and I decided to give it a shot in my system. A few hours after it was placed in my tank it started to plump up and has gotten better daily.

I just googled Symphyllia Agaricia and unfortunately it seems like they don't really color up much compared to other Symphyllia types.

Good call... Yeah doesn't have mutiple neon colors like some other brains but they can be nice. I have saw some really bright blue and red ones also some with pink, orange and green. You won't get the splatter/splash effect but more of a ringed/outline pattern.
