Hi can someone tell me what type of coral this is , and what is wrong with it . I'd appreciate any help trying to save it

It looks like a Favia and it seems to have lost a number of heads around the edges.

needs to be fed. check it out at night, its should have some feeders out. try something like reef roids, spot fed with a turkey baster or something similar. good luck!

Ty I am buying reef roids today I've heard that's the best food

Instead of reef roids try spot feeding it Mysis shrimp instead, it's a meatier food.
