I had a few in my tank, then they doubled, and doubled and doubled and doubled untill I had about 250 or so of them. I then got 2 Harlequin shrimp and let them take care of the asterinas that were growing out of hand.

No responsible reefer should sell asterina starfish. They are a common live rock hitchhiker which reproduces rapidly under favorable conditions. Please note, some species of asterina are known to graze on and eat certain corals.

If they reproduce so rapidly what harm does it do to your tank to sell them?

why not be nice and help a fellow reefer out who wasnt lucky enugh to get any hiding in his live rock?

And let me clerify, Can you buy asterina starfish at a pet store or LFS?

What Deanos meant to say was that its not so "nice" to sell them being that a reefer is bound to get some sooner or later. You can probably buy at an LFS but theyd probably rip you off.. If you want some get some (for free) from a nice reefer whos tank is packed to the gills with em. Many would be glad to hook up a fellow reefer
