Looks like a hitchhiker fungia plate, the ones that grow like mushrooms with a stem. Dunno the exact name but its a start. I can take a picture of mine if you want its pretty much the same.
Thats cool! Thanks guys.. Ok Tony I'll keep that in mind for when I update my Tank Thread.. Yeah if you wouldn't mind I'd ike seeing pics.. I totally didn't notice it until I got home from NACL.. Leo let me cut off a branch of rock that had a tiny awesome red mushroom (I wonder if they got sold, b/c they were bright and no one picked it up that day) Geuss I have some research to do!
Mine has a greenish tint but its pretty transparent so I'm not sure what to call it.. Its stuck to the rock I think is there a way to transfer it somewhere else for when the mushroom grows bigger?
If it is a baby fungia then let it grow a bit. After it gets a little bigger the "stem" will be easy to break and then you can put it anywhere you want.
I've been trying to search but I can't find the answer to why some plates are a nice round shape and some are mis-shaped and not always completely flat.. I assume its how their environment was when they were growing but does anyone have the facts?
Once I take mine off will the rock continue to make more baby plates? I've read on another thread about someone saying that a rock pops out baby plates in the same spot every so often I guess..
