Ok I have a bunch of these on my rock..are they good or bad?and what are they...I have looked in a few books.

aptasia, not good, ? for you, seeing you have a few questions, why not make a tank thread and list all you equiptment, tank size sump skimmer lighting ect, this way you get all the questions answered, it will benifit you and save ya $ welcome to our love hate hobby :letitallo

Well sure are bad for your tank. called glass anemonies".
A well known pest Eaten by peppermint shrimp and butterfly fish.
Also killed by injections of boiling water, kalkwasser, or special chemicals.

Ok now if a get a few peperment shrimp will they eat them...they are pretty big! I have been feeding them...LOL some are as big as my thumb. what do they do that makes them bad..just curious..thanks

no sure way of getting rid of them naturally. best to take rock out and kill em manually or if widespread, it'll be impossible to get rid of. people have rodo their whole reef tanks for this.

my water quality is near perfect....I lost a powder brown...tried to save him from ich...but no such luck....lost a fire fish and a yellow head jaw fish....I have a 20 gal q tank now so I hope I have better luck....not getting fish from the place I got these guys from anymore.I feel so bad after a loss...specially when all the paramiters are good.

A powderblue in a 20g? That's pretty small for that fish they get up to 6-8" I'd say a 20g is pretty small for Copper banded butterfly as well. Why not try some Joe's Juice or berghai nudibranches to kill your apastasia. Don't pluck them though or they will release their spores.

there's a product called joe's juice. you feed it to them and the gobble it up. then they die. that's all you need. a couple applications of joe's juice - no problem.

Or plain old white vinegar that you probably have seen in your kitchen. You will need a syringe for this. Fill the syringe with the vinegar and quickly inject the aiptesia in the very center before it pulls itself into it's hidehole, then depress the plunger on the syringe.
