ID Please

I found this creature at 4 AM near the sand bed, but on the base of the overflow....any ideas?

Approx Size: .75-1"

I believe it to be either:
a) [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]sphaeromatid isopods or Sand Skaters[/FONT]
b)[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Chitons[/FONT]

The size of the creature picture is what confuses me, as it is rather large for either of the possible matches.

I would go with Chiton

Yeah certain species of chitons can get big

chiton...they don't move much where as sand skaters move pretty darn fast. aslo chitons are much bigger.
