Wired live rock

Weird live rock

I have something with feathers on it's head and a tube like body stuck on a rock it pops out when the lights are off and retracks inward when the lights are on (wired I kind of like the little fella lol) but it's wired since my tank is in it's cycle stage since......
10-1-10. Help ID please

PS: the ammonia is up still 0.50 since the tank is still cycling :-|

sounds like a tube worm you will see them growing on the glass of your sump they like low light

Thanks ....that was very informative , with the help of other members here I just took the rock out and fried it hopefully it did the job ...I put it in a empty tank I had running with water only .....

if it comes back, get it early (they multiply fairly quickly---sometimes in just days) with aiptasia x.....fun to watch the sob implodes....yes implodes!!!

How did you go about 'frying' it?

I put fire to all the holes I could see then I left it boiling in a pot till there was no more water ...and boy does that stink lol but now I basically have a dead rock :-(

Wire can poison your inverts it is made out of copper and copper kills inverts.

I find it weird that they would wire your live rock.

If u cook every pice of lr that gets glass anemone u will get very frustrated just get some peppermint shrimp or a copper band and some anti spa x it comes with a siring that u fill with the anti spa and inject into the crevice where the thing is hiding works for me

Ok let's relax..... problem was solved...but if there's more I did find out peppermint shrimps can take care of it
And I don't know what you mean about wire????
