Any idea's if this crab is reef safe or not, I found it in the overflow.


The crab is about 1" long big claws with red undersides the color is a blueish green. see attached pic

its a porcelain crab id by its 3 legs on each side instead of the usual 4 like real crabs, they cool completely harmless, i have 2 that hitchhiked on my LR

Porcelain crabs only pull those out when feeding. And the 6 legs are a dead giveaway.

yea theres harmless like i said, never seen a green one, the 2 i have are both purple.

>6 is not a crab. But any who, its still a porcelin, and it won't get bigger then an 1.5 max

I have tried to find this crab in my ID books and on-line ref but can't. So, all one can say is that it is a Porcelain as THEDLO stated. They have as stated only 6 walking legs, as the 4 set of walking legs is highly degenerated/reduced and held tight up against the abdomen.
