it doesn't look like a gorilla, gorillas are black with red eyes. Either way it's def not reef safe flush it. Putting it in sump or fuge will probably just make it easy for it to eat all your snails/hermits etc you might have in there.

There are many different kinds of gorilla crabs and some are poisonous. There are also stone crabs that look similar as well. Do a search on "Xanthid Crabs". Some are cool looking :lol2: Either way it is bad for the reef as you said :)

Yea I know there is lots of different xanthid crabs I remember I had a hitch hiker once I knew it was bad for the reef but I felt bad and put it in my sump while I searched the entire google trying to figure out what the hell he was. I believe it was an acro eating crab he had bright blue eyes like a husky and he was brownish orange. Either way he ate a ton of nails and I was not happy. The risk outweighs the benefit. IF anyone gets a funny hitchhiker crab and feels the need to save it think again and buy yourself some hermits instead. IF you don't want to flush it give to someone for food or a fish only tank.
