So there have been a couple of nasty cyclones this year that went thru the Marshal and Fiji islands.

So what kind of effect does this have on the industry? I would think there would be several both good and bad.

In Fiji my divers couldn't get in the water and the planes weren't carrying much cargo due to the winds. Other than that we're back to normal- whatever is "normal" for a native owned collection station ;)

I wonder if this will make more/better "live" rock available. I keep hearing that most of it is collected from brocken reef structure from storm damage. What do you think?

Definitely more. The storms break chunks off the main reef and wash it back into the shallows were the collection areas are.

I happen to prefer this type of rock, too. These events are a good argument in favor of using this South Pacific rock vs. cultured l/r. (You get more structure/lb.--for the most part anyway--and it's better colonized than cultured Atlantic rock..just my preference.)
