If there is to be a meeting of interested parties to discuss reform issues, I think some planning really needs to get done soon. Things like a list of interested participants, a rough agenda, and a meeting place. Personally, I vote for Marine Ornamentals. It's more of an industry venue, plus Hawaii beats Kentucky anyday!! ;) Also, more of the NGO/Scientific types tend to attend MO as well.

You have no idea how much I'd love to go to Hawaii... (or maybe you do...)

'Cept my husband would want to come along too....

(Just kidding dear...)

Kentucky is more affordable for me... but I'm not even sure if I can get to MACNA yet... I need a clone....

I would be very interested in attending. Kentucky would be closer for me, but I've been planning a trip to Hawaii anyway, so that would work out well for me.

I'm not the official meeting moderator or anything, but it was my understanding that any concerned industry/hobbyist person could attend.

MO is March 1-4 I think- sometime around there. It's being held in conjunction with the HUGE Aquaculture '04 conference this year, so it's going to be awesome. Having been to both MO conferences and one MACNA, I can say that I got a lot more out of MO.

Mary and all,

Is there any reason why two meetings can't be held. The first in Kentucky and another in Hawaii. This would give ALL interested parties the opportunity to become involved.

This just in...
At the AQUARAMA conference in Singapore October 30th to November 2nd there is a speaker presentation by one Loke Ming Chou of Singapore National University. His topic is:
SouthEast Asia's coral reefs: Inexhaustable source of marine tropicals.
After his talk there will be a 20 minute coffee break for everyone to catch their breath again.

I recently suggested that the Reformists meet at the next MACNA conference. I like the suggestion that two meetings be held, the 1st at MACNA in Kentucky this year and the 2nd at Marine Ornamentals in Hawaii next year. I also agree with Mary that to make the meetings effective there needs to be planning. We need to form a committee (that bureaucratic word) to set the agenda etc.

Another thing we need to do is put someone or some persons in charge of making the arrangements etc. Right now no one has been delegated or has volunteered. Can I get suggestions as to how we handle these matters?

I nominate Neasco, he seems to have the time and has a real passion for Reeform.
