There was some mention in regards to one particular new exporter that their first shipments were excellent and had very low DOA/DAA numbers. Later shipments I believe were said to be improperly packed and resulted in high mortalities.
Is there any way that importers can band together to force exporters to adhere to some sort of standard set of best handling practices? Something to the effect of "if exporters pack and handle the fish corectly, the importer eats the DOAs; if the standards are not followed the exporter eats the DOAs"?
It only seems fair to me.
