While some of the stories posted are quite old, I just wanted to publicly thank John for posting some of them.

Reading them is quite the education for those of you uninitiated in Filipino politics.

Some of my favorites involve corrupt mayors setting aside reserves, then allowing their own commercial fishing companies only to operate inside the no-take zones. Ah, the fatalistic sense of irony would so appeal to the Filipino psyche...

Or using a successful MPA example as a campaign issue to argue AGAINST the creation of more MPAs... :roll:

You know? We can probably set the board up so that the Industry Forum displays up to 200 posts on the first page. Would that be good? Heck, you'd never have to hit the "Next" button then. If 200 isn't enough, maybe we should go for 500...
