To be sure that we clearly address different aspects of "I do not dispute that cyanide collected fish are a problem",
I would like to also suggest a discussion of the implied variant, namely "I do not dispute that collecting fish with the aid of cyanide is a problem"

Hence I have set up this parallel thread to "I do not dispute that cyanide collected fish are ... I "

So again why not have forum members here take a gander and describe from their different perspectives [ personal or professional: as hobbyists, gourmets, divers, ecologists; as importers, retailers, biologists, conservationists, cyanide squirter, netfishers etc. etc. ] what possible solutions WE , in the hobby as well as in the industry may come up with collectively? I.e. "The right way to go".

The year 2004 is still young, perhaps WE can make it count.

I dearly hope so for
"all the fishes in the deep blue sea..."
and ultimately
"joy to you and me..."

Looks like we have two more votes on poll-II than on poll-I ...

I had intended one to describe the perception about
"caught with cyanide" and ending up as cyanide-polluted-fish
i.e. the problem for "in the tank"...

the other as
"catching with cyanide" which does not only
produce cyanide-polluted-fish into the trade,
but also harms the habitat, and likely produces
early "victims" along the way, as well as the lingering effects...
i.e. the cyanide "on the reef" problem situation ...

These polls will be scewed by the fact that only a selected segment of the industry frequents this forum.

Might want to post them in the GRD.

Cheers

Not just a selected segment of the "industry"...
a "selected" of the hobby too...

I'm primarily interested iin seeing what actually "lives" on this forum...
Often we see posts from folks whose point of view gets expressed
over and over...

On these issues, it would be interesting to take a poll HERE...
