I hope I am not off base for asking this info.

I have a small aquarium maintenance company. I am looking for a supplier for bali corals. I have several clients asking for them specifically.

Any leads would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My local store gets them from Bryan at Holiday Corals in Indiana. He has the Bali corals, but supposedly my local store guy says he is really difficult to deal with and my guy complains how he gets cheated all the time, yet he still buys from him so he must be making money on the stuff.

Well if outright plugs are by SDC then .......I can ship you Bali corals. What are you looking for ? I can even let you see them online prior to sending. In two weeks our wholesale website will be up and running www.pacificoliverock.com and www.pacificoclams.com You can choose from actual photos of that weeks shipment. 100s of Clams, Phonape wild and Tonga Aquacultured, Bali Live rock and corals.{No FisH} There will be a section for monster rock {xtra large live rock } Actual photos of each monster show size rock and a section for actual photos of that weeks live rock , each box is photographed opened so you can see all the pink and red! Then we ship the actual boxes or monster rock you choose! Were changing the way retail stores shop for livestock!

Are you tanking that rock after being opened? How will you keep track of what rock went into which box?

Am genuinely curious.

Regards.

Hey,
Just because someone slips in a commercial plug doesn't mean that its acceptable.
Otherwise all plugs will be and this will turn into one commercial post after another.
It is interesting however...to see what can finally make some people contribute to the forum...selling something.
This forum is for questions beyond that.

I don't have a real issue with wholesalers giving out information, as long as they are wholesale only. Direct to the public info is not allowed. This is an Industry Forum after all. They are allowed to dicuss retail info in the GRD forum, we can discuss wholesale stuff here.

Really?
Ahh the joys of the simplicity of basic buy and sell!
5,000 marinelife dealers across America believe in this ethic....
Whats to keep them all from chiming in to push product?
We can't go on like the general forum does..[.ie, where can I get the cheapest clams? type posts!]

Each 50 pound box is placed in its own bin of a central live rock acclimation system with sand filters and eight foot skimmers.{Not the paper box itself and actually you might get a different cardboard box}, but the rock that was in the box is kept track of and we send those specific rocksthat were in the photo.. The rock is so consistent that most customers simply order "blind" boxes after the first shipments. The "sea it first" system is for new customers and those looking for certain monster sized shapes. The same goes for boxes of clams and corals. You buy the twenty or so corals/clams as a group. You cherry pick not specific corals but groups of corals which represent one box. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE IDEA? Im interested in industry responses? So far every store loves it........The livestock needs to spend the night resting anyway before being reshipped so why not photo it so storefronts can see what came in. Although it does seem like I am one of those Universal Studios back lot tram tour photographers, You know those guys that snap photo after photo of tourists setting in the tram....hand them a ticket stub so they can later preview their portrait and decide to buy it or not in the gift shop. {they still do that dont they} Well, even if they dont at Universal Studios Hollywood any longer ........I do !

I would think as long as" prices" and "cheapness" are not spoken about......That this forum can contribute quite a bit to the whole process of purchasing livestock on a wholesale level. You speak of how your product is collected quite often on this board. So does Mary. Other Wholesalers speaking about how they not collect their product, but market and hold their livestock might be an adventure as well ? There are a lot of interesting things that happen to net collected fish and coral after that first netting on the reef.....You and this forum have been focusing solely on that first netting......{"cyanide free" } The next ten nettings are equally important........

I agree. I would love to see the forum open up into more topics. Hence my quarantine system thread. Wholesalers deal with more fish than anyone, I for one am intersted to learn from their experience.
