I would like to ask a question that pertains to a coupla things that have come up here.

One of those things is advertising on Reefs.org aka R.O aka RDO ...

A) I understand that any one, or any organisation can try to buy advertising banners.

What is the policy about "acceptability" of a "sponsor"?
Can I find that policy online here?



B) What is allowed in signatures of participants in the forum?

What is the policy about "acceptability" of a "signature"
in regards to "promotions"? Can I find a policy online here?


Are links or promotional slogans allowed?
And if so are there any restrictions?
What is the co$t , if any, etc.


What do other members think about "signatures"?

A) There is no set policy, and if there was, it probably wouldn't be made public anyhow. It's up to our discretion who we do and don't accept.

B) Promotions and sales information are not allowed in signatures. Links to your operation is perfectly fine, but sales information such as prices or discounts are not permitted. There is no price to circumvent this rule. I don't believe we have the signature policies posted anywhere at the moment, but I'll look into getting one up. People have been very good about accomdating our non-commercial policy and our requests.

These type of posts really should go in the Questions, Comments, and Suggestions forum. I'll let this one stay, but in the future, I'll be moving them all to the appropriate forum.
