I believe Jeff(kalk) is using some twisted form of reverse pychology in an effort to hurt the MAC. First he makes numerous offensive and uninteligible posts, in an effort to make himself unliked. Then he begins to show support for the MAC effort. With friends like kalk who needs enemies?

I think Jeff just likes to argue. Substance doesn't matter. I stopped engaging him a long time ago. I even have a hard time following his posts, either I'm too tired to digest them, or they are incoherent - not sure which. It's too much work to wade through them, so I try to look for the responses to him, more so than his posts.

I think Jeff likes to troll. He can usually get a rise out of somebody or other here. I've also come to the conclusion that he only can spell reform one way: the Naesco way.

BTW - what happened to Wayne? Did the heat in the kitchen become too much? :? Or did he have to run off to buy a tuxedo for a trip to Rideau Hall? :lol:

If MAC was to implement testing of their fish and of the collection sites at this time ........They would go out of business.......Thats the issue, The process of testing is too costly at this time and unless they increase production somehow.......the whole program is going to fall by the wayside.Sure they thought they would be able to certify their fish .........BUT they also thought they would have fish to sell.......There are many issues which have not turned out as they planned ............... With testing comes ......the possibility that some unclean fish are making it into certified boxes, is a real public relations nightmare.....And at this time in the program anything but a perfect score is going to snuff out the remaining interest in their product.......There are many reasons unclean fish might show up during testing .........and the most likely is never been spoken about until now... "Sabotage" In a country as corrupt and competitive as PI.........the idea that competing companies might pay off a collector to dirty MAC and its reputation is not out of the question .........Neither is the chance that a few cheaters might be within the ranks of MAC or the possibility of second hand cyanide. Without a perfect score ......and with such a small supply of fish .......MAC could easily lose what little support they still have. Until there is enough MAC fish to support the framework of testing and enough satisfied MAC certified fish stores {with actual fish in their tanks}......testing is too risky.....Lay off and give them a little slack.......As for Kalkbreath speaking for the lax importers, Its those morons that allowed the whole PI cyanide fish industry to thrive.....the importers are the SOLE reason cyanide fish end up in hobby fish tanks .....Each week those cheap idiots make a "consensus deception" :lol: to by the cheapest fish they can ..They are also the reason for the twenty times markup at retail...How in the hell a 50 cent bicolor angel ends up retailing for $39 dollars is beyond me .......and I own two stores?

If the importers only imported net certified fish ......only net certified fish would end up in the tanks of hobbyists. But thats not what takes place......the exporters in PI have too many fish ....they need to sell lots of fish ........the importers demand the lowest price.....so the prices paid per fish are tiny ....and even more tiny {tinyer ?}to the diver............. this means each diver is more concerned about the volume of fish he collects instead of quality.....[.in steps the squirt bottle} There is no shortage of fish in the Philippines......if there was the price of the fish would increase.....and they have not.... only fish that are hard to find have gone up like blue face angels or hard to catch like blue tangs.......MAC is attempting to re-adjust the market .....from cheaper is better ......to quality is the focus. But what really upsets the whole industry is AIR FREIGHT!!! If the gentlemen that run the wholesale industry in LAX , did not all hate eachother where not the most cut throat and dishonest bunch of jerks around .....they would have banded together and chartered a cargo plane ....in which they could freight the fish and corals into America at a less costly expense...{it cost more then the fish }...inturn shaving 30% to fifty percent off of the cost of livestock. This savings would change the entire structure of the industry by allowing more money to be allocated to collection .....MAC is attempting to fetch more money at retail for their product, and thus will be able to spend more on collection .....this might work if it was not for the fact that pet salt water fish already cost TOO MUCH ! There is little room for an increase..at retail............In steps The Internet.......with bypassing the middle men there is more room for quality control and money to pay the certified collectors .......There is a big change taking place in the market.....prices are going down because of online marketing .....and its the wrong time to be asking MORE for livestock like MAC . MAC needs to embrace the Web and circumnavigate their product around the middle men to be successful......?
