Which industry publications do you receive? Pet Product News, Pet Business, and/or Pet Age? Which do you like best/least and why?

I think it is called SeaScope. The articles are short and imformative and best of all it is given out by the LFS free.
Canada won the gold medal in hockey today. US earned the bronze.

Respectfully, Wayne, SeaScope is a hobbyist publication, and it's put out by Aquarium Systems now known as Marineland - the aquarium salt manufacturer.

Mary, I get Pet Business, and I've picked up a copy of Pet Product News and I think I get Pet Edge but it's mostly dog/cat stuff, so I don't bother reading it. I get some entertainment out of Pet Business, but honestly I just kind of skim through it. That reminds me I have an issue lying around here somewhere, perhaps I'll take it home and read it ;)

When I go to trade shows I come home laden with all manner of literature, I try to read the more interesting stuff.

On a hobbyist level, the new Daniel Knopp publication, Coral, seems to be very high-end, very specialized and in-depth. It's selling very well, it's not one big ad, it's retailer-friendly (no ads for every mail-order house on the planet) and the articles are just that - articles, not masked advertisements.

Smells like sarcasm to me...

As for the bit about the gold/bronze.. - I'm still too emotionally torn up about the Wings to comment (or care).

I like the Pet Product News one...it's oversized, and usually has nice saltwater articles in it.

Peace,

You smell wrong.
The Wings and Canucks did not have the energy the winners had. And in the worlds, the Canadians were simply a better team, eh.

I tend to look through Pet Age more than any of them, they tend to be a little more forward focused I think. Pet Product News is good but I hate the huge format.

I like Pet Product News. They seem the most willing to tackle the tougher issues that threaten our industry. Mostly laws by PETA types that want to shut down our industry. They welcome editorial comment and print without censorship.

How do I subscribe to Pet Product News? I've picked it up at trade shows, but never anybody on the booth to talk to.

I agree the huge format is somewhat awkward but it stands out ;)

www.petproductnews.com or call (818) 286-3107 for subcriptions (Free to B&M retailers) Pet Product News is published by Fancy Publications the editor is Marilyn Iturri. It has a Retail Advisory Board composed of 11 diversified retailers who understand the issues quite well. I like the big format.

They must have harvested our name from somewhere. Today I got a copy, Scott got a copy and I got a copy at home.... I never did get around to making the call.

We get at least four copies per month. One for every manager that has ever worked at that address.
