If you have a topic that everyone here can agree on and we can all just sit around patting ourselves on the back because of how clever we are, please post here. This forum is in need. Cyanide topics, MAC topics, AMDA topics, Etail topics, Statistically Based topics, "Think Outside the Box" type topics, and topics requiring any type of understanding of the marine ornamental industry need not apply. :P

Here's a topic for you.

"What wholesalers wish retailers knew about fish."

;)

As a greedy scum-sucking etailing wholesaler, I think my opinion on that is that I wish retailers knew that certain fish are in limited supply and are not available in mass quantities 365 days a year. And I wish they wouldn't act like I purposefully don't import blue tangs right now just to be a pain in their a$$. ;)

WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!
This topic requires an understanding of the marine ornamental industry, and is clearly in violation of the new topic rules! Further posters on this topic will be forced to start a siphon with a 2" diameter short hose in a tank that hasn't been maintained for 2 years. ;)

My husband likes "Big Beef" tomatoes, I myself prefer "Whoppers". They're uniform in size and without the fiberous core.

Ooh, you meant Industry related topics. Never mind.

Nah, I think the tomato topic is much safer. I personally dislike all tomatoes unless they are smushed up into some kind of sauce.

Rover, I would prefer a topic along the lines of "what retailers wish marine wholesalers knew about fish".

Me: Did you know that those purple chromis are slender anthias?

Wholesaler A: Really? I didn't think they were damsels, but I didn't know what to call them so I just left it the same as the list I got said.

:P

Jeremy,
As a competitor of other wholesalers, I have dozens such stories.
Where do you think the "know nothing money grubbing wholesaler" comes from?
Steve
PS. & Some of us know every chaetodon, parachaetodon and coradian in the book!
Not to mention the pseudanthias group. Non feeders however would not be offered. Just because a non-knowledgeable fish store will buy a P. lori or a tuka doesn't mean an importer should offer them.
The phrase 'dumb as a box of rocks' crosses all boundaries to be sure.
My favorite retailer question is the daily substitute for fish knowledge; "Is it reef safe or not reef safe?"

HEY!! That's my story you big fat loser piece of etailing retailer trash!!! ;)

How about stories where retailers order from the same wholesalers after getting burned several times and then ***** when they get burned again???

Air my laundry brother, and it'll come right back at 'ya. ;)

I like getting orders that were meant for other wholesalers.

Jeremy-

Slender anthias is a OK name to put on a list? Who's definition of slender anthias you going by, er, I mean, which countries definintion. I've seen so many names attached to the same fish, its truly not funny anymore. My personal favorite is the Chit anthias. If you know the definition of that one (more like story), I'm sure your ROTFL about now.

Well, slender anthias is certainly more accurate than purple chromis! Heh. I had dug up the scientific on them too at the time.

As for the other laundry.. I have no idea what she's talking about. Silly blond.

Well Jeremy, if you and Ruth put your "heads" together, I'm sure you can get to the bottom of my "fish" laundry tale. ;)
