Has anyone ever heard of or seen a retail fish store in the same building as a public aquarium? I was recently approached about opening a retail fish store in a proposed new public aquarium "retail section" and was wondering if it has ever been done.
Seems like that would be against the American Zoological Association's code of ethics. I know our local zoo has very strict policy against any animals going into, or coming out of their facility.
FWIU, almost all Aquariums are part of the AZA, and the AZA has huge issues with trafficking. I tried to deal with it a little bit when I was looking for cuttles, but no go. I think it is sad that the AZA aquariums cant even sell the any extra frags they grow. One aquarium wanted to buy some of my baby cuttles, but decided not to because of AZA issues.
