office, a Philippines office and an Indonesia office.

1. MAMTI Project Director
The MAMTI Project Director manages the implementation of the MAMTI project in Indonesia and
the Philippines. Working closely with MAC and its partners and contractors, the Director is
responsible for ensuring the proper allocation of human and capital resources, developing and
implementing financial and program-related project controls, establishing an effective
management and communications framework and providing feedback to MAC regarding
opportunities and challenges encountered in the field. The Director will have to work with the
staff of three organizations committed to the project: The Marine Aquarium Council, Reef Check
(reef and fishery assessment, monitoring and management planning) and the Community and
Conservation Investment Forum (business skills and enterprise development for fishers).
Because the project combines elements of both coastal resource management and business
development, the successful applicant will combine some or all of the following qualifications:
• Extensive experience directing complex resource management projects in developing
countries, preferably in relation to coastal/marine resources
• Extensive experience building multi-site business operations in developing countries,
preferably in relation to natural resource products
• At least 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in either or both fields
• Extensive experience in directing projects funded by major multi-lateral organizations
• Fluent in English and knowledge of Tagalog and/or Bahasa Indonesia
• Graduate degree in either resource management or business management, preferably both
• Proven ability to work in a highly dynamic, start-up environment
The position will be initially headquartered in either Philippines (Cebu or Manila) or Bali,
Indonesia. Compensation will be competitive with overseas salary, benefits and relocation
allowance. The position will commence in January.

2. MAMTI Project Business Development/M&E Manager
The MAMTI Project Business Development Manager directs all project efforts related to villagelevel
business skills development. As such, s(he) is ultimately responsible for providing fishers
with the training, business skills and resources required to form village-based cooperatives and
succeed as small enterprises. This includes development of appropriate business training
materials, recruitment and supervision of local trainers, development of business solutions to
problems of a small rural fishery (such as unpredictable cash flows, seasonal variations, poor
infrastructure, etc.) and providing feedback to MAC regarding opportunities and challenges
encountered in the field.
In addition, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and
implementing the monitoring and evaluation process for the MAMTI project. This includes
developing the indicators of the project’s success at the local and regional level, as well as
establishing a data management system to track these indicators over the project’s five-year
duration.
A successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications:
• Extensive experience directing business development projects in developing countries,
including design of local business solutions, development and implementation of training
programs and development of efficient consulting service models
• Private sector experience, preferably in multi-location businesses in developing countries,
preferably with natural resource products, such as fisheries
• Prior experience in designing project control systems for multiple locations
• Proven ability to work in highly dynamic, start-up situations
• Master’s degree, preferably in a business-related subject
• Fluency in Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia, or both
• Fluency in English
The position will be initially headquartered in either Philippines (Cebu or Manila) or Bali,
Indonesia. Compensation will be competitive with overseas salary and benefits. The position will
commence in February.

3. MAMTI Project Human Resources Manager
The position is responsible for human resource functions related to a major, five-year
international conservation project, which, at its most intensive period, will employ over 60 people.
The functions the successful candidate will perform include recruiting of field and office staff,
development and administration of benefit packages, management of logistical and legal
arrangements, such as visas, work permits, etc., development of performance measurements
metrics and processes and development of consistent work rules and processes.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• At least five years of increasingly responsible experience in human resource
management
• Experience in international human resource management
• Fluency in English, Bahasa Indonesia, and/or Tagalog
• Experience in conservation or environmental project work is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or business management
The position will be headquartered either in Philippines (Cebu or Manila), and/or Bali, Indonesia.
Compensation will be competitive. The position will commence in January.

4. MAMTI Project Financial Manager
The MAMTI Project Financial Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project’s financial
accounting and control. This includes the development and maintenance of cost accounting
systems, budgeting/forecasting, and financial performance management. The financial manager
is also responsible for all financial reporting to the project’s funders.
The successful applicant will combine some or all of the following qualifications:
• At least five years experience in the financial management of complex, grant-funded projects
in Southeast Asia
• Alternatively, at least five years experience as a comptroller of a for-profit, multi-location
enterprise in Southeast Asia
• Proven experience in the design and implementation of cost accounting systems
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Tagalog and/or Bahasa Indonesia preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Proven ability to work in a highly dynamic, start-up environment

responsible for recruiting key in-country positions, implementing detailed and highly ambitious
work plans covering multiple locations, managing the Philippines project office and providing
accurate and up-to-date reporting on project performance. The Philippines Manager will have to
work with the staff of three organizations committed to the project: The Marine Aquarium Council,
Reef Check (reef and fishery assessment, monitoring and management planning) and the
Community and Conservation Investment Forum (business skills and enterprise development).
The successful applicant will combine some or all of the following qualifications:
• Extensive experience directing complex coastal resource management projects in the
Philippines
• Experience with projects involving business-related solutions and multiple locations is
preferred
• Experience in directing projects funded by major multi-lateral organizations
• Fluency in Tagalog and English
• Master’s degree in either resource management or business management
• Proven ability to work in a highly dynamic, start-up environment
The Philippines project office will be in Cebu or Manila. Compensation will be competitive, with a
full benefit package and relocation benefits. The position will commence in February.

I don't qualify for the position and just found out about it yesterday.
The criteria disqualify everyone I know. The only fluent speakers of Tagalog tend to be Filipinos and the only experts in motivating, teaching and training poor cyanide fisherman tend not to be.
