The elections are the main business at the up-coming BOD meeting.

PS.
WE were way too issue oriented at this MACNA and we need to be more organization oriented as well. We are also considering more involvment with dealers conferences where they have to put their money where their mouth is and not just hobby conferences where reform has been such a small issue of concern...compared to getting the best deal on a deepwater blue acro frag. :?

You mean MAMTI doesn't really exist?
It sure reads like a conspiracy theory...why if not for the 170 pages put on the net by the AMDA director at large, no one would believe it still.
And so on...
Another year? Theres little time left as this is the year . The elections are to be held soon...What do you mean by another year?
If you have an passionate agenda or selfless mission, at least get the simple question right.
Whats up w/ non-members? Join and speak on the forums line to all other members about your concerns. They all can do this and 24 hours a day if they like.
We already suffer from too much Democracy and too much volunteer effort and half the BOD can't wait to unload this responsibility to the eager beavers waiting to participate.
But...if you are not a member...you may not know this. Where is the beef?
Now...do you want me to direct the BOD to jump and answer the questions of people who are not members?
We do that all the time anyway on this forum.
There has been a fair bit of dialogue all morning among the members actually so they may not get to you for awhile.

If there is such interest in industry reform, thats a good thing. ..and we're allies it would appear. So why not hold forth here on RDO where you don't have to join anything and let us know whats on your mind?

I'm all for reform, I just don't think AMDA is capable of doing anything about it. All I see from AMDA year after year is the same lip service with few, if any results.
So, my questions still remain. What has AMDA done lately? Where is AMDA going now? Why would I want to rejoin AMDA? And please, state facts not rhetoric and fluff.
The only thing about AMDA I heard at MACNA was that Steve wanted out and was stepping down at president. I heard this from two board members. However, no one told me who would be replacing him.
So, my questions still remain. What has AMDA done lately? Where is AMDA going now? Why would I want to rejoin AMDA? And please, state facts not rhetoric and fluff.

If you're out of the loop and not doing anything yourself, I don't understand the demand for table service to answer your every call.
I said already how the group works ie. owes answers to its constituents, has the open forum line, got a letter today from Rep. Ed Case, deals w/ Reef Protection Institute to straighten out their agenda, got invited to speak at MACNA in a bigger venue...etc. etc..
You could've come to the 1 1/2 hour presentation...but you didn't bother to show up.
You could've come to the MAC presentation where we all were again...but you didn't bother to show up again.
You did go out drinking and posted the results on the web...but I honestly have no idea how you stand on anything as you never do anything but post recreationally and dally w/ getting kicked off the board periodically.
Have your boss join...and he can find out ANYTHING he wants...rather quickly...including the things I feel not obliged to spend more time explaining to you.
People who do nothing and stand for nothing and risk nothing and sacrifice nothing need to cool it when dealing with those that do.
Our job is made all the more difficult by having to carry the burden that others avoid and merely flirt with and gossip about.
Do one thing and attract one follower and you will have earned more attention in the future.

We've been "discussing" for the past few years. Talking doesn't get stuff done, especially here on "As the Industry Turns". Actions by those supposedly leading the fight, such as AMDA and MAC, get things done.cortez marine":2yr8fbqp said:

Randy Goodlet came up to me on Sunday before he left MACNA and asked me if I was interesting in joining AMDA again. I said I would if I actually knew what AMDA is doing and where they were going. No one, even Randy, has clearly answered this for me without it sounding like a John Grishom spy novel.
Discussed MAMTI, gotten an editorial printed in a trade magazine about it and MAC, and talked with congressman Case about his bill.
Depends on the new elections I guess. Some want to see it head in a more retailer advocacy direction, some want to focus on the collection reform alone, and some want to join simply to take it over. Without active members it won't go anywhere.
I honestly don't see any reason for any non-retailer to join, but that's just my opinion.
