JT get a life.. Who designated you the coral cop for the entire world.. You have already been kicked off the other forums for running your big mouth and unsubstansiated allegations.. Get some facts from now on before opening your trap..

I don't know JT personally, but the people I know that have had dealings with him only have great things to say. And I for one don't mind him speaking up and questioning things that look wrong. My 2 cents :)

daclozer: I think you are misinformed and sorry you feel so hostile.

I got kicked off ReefCentral for being a *******, not because of my facts or allegations. I've already apologized for how I worded some of my posts. Many of my so called allegations concerning the matter HAVE been substantiated.

I'm not here to win you, or anyone else, over. When I see something that bothers me, I step up and voice my concerns. I don't ignore it and run and hide with my tail between my legs like most others do.

I can gather you know a lot about the industry and corals, it just seems instead of posting useful info for some of us that are less experienced, you are always posting something negative about someone else.. The corals were collected, bagged, boxed and shipped if front of Tonga officials. They make the laws, if their laws were not broken then what is your beef???? Do you think that all of the corals in all of our tanks just suddenly appeared out of thin air? They were all collected at some point from the oceans...

daclozer,
Your on the wrong thread, so please don't bring it to this one. This thread is about a guy getting caught stealing from a lfs. It has nothing to do with Tonga coral collection.

knowse,

While I sympathize with what you are saying about not pulling Tonga into this thread all of the threads really dealing with it have been locked. The only reason I'm indulging in this bout of thread drift with daclozer is because it was one of the most significant reefing issues ever discussed on the public boards and it was quickly discounted without true discussion.

Gosh Lee are you sure? I thought the puffer pinching thread held that distinction.

Issues like , Collecting within the rules .....May seem like a small thing . But the truth is that every importer is effected by what another does. The USFW inspections of Tonga shipments as of late have been much more intense then normal. Size does matter out of Tonga .......... US fish and Wildlife feels that even the new aquacultured corals coming out of are too large !What the King permits is only part of the process. Industry people realize that one guy getting caught importing outside the rules ....Translates into extra hours landing shipments while inspectors look to see if someone else is attempting to pull a fast one. With more corals and fish dying during the last hours of a forty hour trip, every additional hour waiting in line to have your shipment inspected and cleared .......means more stress on livestock. Think of it in this way , when one importer breaks the rules , it translates into fish and corals dying ....due to longer inspections of everyone's landings. One guy jumping the security at the Airport ....Translates into tens of thousands of passengers being shafted. One Stupid rear ender on the freeway can cause thousands of commuters hours of wasted time stuck on the road to work. Yes! one guy.... one infraction does matter!
