Again, What were the resulting effects on the fish ?If regal blue tangs are still being collected with cyanide in 2004 .......its not having a negative effect on the fish. Because Pi blue tangs are great this year from almost every collector. That means in 2004 a really low concentration of cyanide is being used if at all. I want to see a test conducted like the present real world . Show me the fish collected with cyanide thirty days after your silly test and the dead coral ....any one can kill the fish and the coral with a heavy blast . The dance around shouting how cyanide kills corals.

Kalk,

You don't see the obvious resulting effects of cyanide! The dead fish (or coral) aren't shipped to you. Only the apparant healthy fish.

No , I find it odd that the actual fish the industry receives from PI in 2004 dont show signs of the poison? But fish subjected to controlled research DO ! {they die} Its a blanket notion that all MO cyanide fishing harms the coral. Sometimes getting the barrier net caught and tangled up it the reef can harm the coral ........does that mean we ban all nets ? Dont hand me the idea that every coral is sacred and that if we harm even one branch of an acropora we should ban mankind from swimming. If we need a multi billion dollar government agency to safe guard the reefs from hobbyists. Then is it really too much to ask someone to substantiate just what kind of harm is currently taking place in 2004? How would you feel if at the hearing for the bill .......the backer of the bill presented evidence that corals like Acropora are impossible to keep in an aquarium long term ? Why not ? This not untrue just a decade or so ago {the same time most of the data about cyanide fishing was collected ! The past does not equal the present or the future ..........A lot of things about this hobby have changed in just the past en years . Why are we so sure collection has not changed as well ..........the fish from PI sure are improved from the 1980s?
