The organizers of MACNA should immediately gather all the experts in CDT, Reresentaives from countries like the Phillippines and Indonesia,
LA wholesalers and the leaders of reform to lay out a groundwork form immediate reeform which would include the following.

1. Implementation of Cyanide Detection testing on all shipments from the Phillipines and Indonesia.
2. Adoption of an Unsuitable Species List (USL) (Many species have already been determined on this forum)
3. A three strikes in your out of business on any importer or exporter caught with CDT posititve fish.
4. Cessation of the import of live rock.
5. A Reeform minded advisory group composed of industy and hobbyists to implement changes NOW.

So will it be "group love" or a "public lynching" at the conference this year? Any ideas on how to make it a constructive event? Anybody invite any congressmen from Hawaii to the convention? It could be a learning event for Mr. Case.

The only way you'd get someone like Mr. Case to come to a MACNA would be to pay for all his expenses for him.

Or bring a MACNA to them...

Umm, Glenn? Mr. Case is in Hawaii. Mr. Case, in his bill, speaks on behalf of the reefs in Hawaii. I bet Mr. Case has never been to DC. How will MACNA XVII in DC help?

Ummm, JT. It's not MR. Case, it's Representative Case. As in a member of the US House of Representatives. That body of Congress that convenes in Washington, DC. The same place where each of the members of Congress have offices.

Mary:

The bill starts off with "Mr. CASE introduced the following bill" so surely I can refer to him as "Mr. Case". Congressmen do have offices in DC, but how many actually live in DC full-time? I bet very few.

Your post seemed to say that he was just some guy in Hawaii introducing a bill vs. a member of congress. All of the representatives residences are listed as their home state, since being a resident of state XYZ is a requirement for being a representative. They spend plenty of time in DC when Congress is in session.
