Ok heres the deal

talked to the Aquaculture guy (Matt Parker)

he said I had to talk to the NC fishery department about marine stuff

called them...got transfered by several very nice people who all were clueless about my permit needs...

I did however get one last transfer that I left a voice mail to call me (David Moore)

I think he is the marine collections permit guy.....I told the lady that I was not collecting but this was the last guy to talk to so...I'll post what he says

I do want everything right and legit and I thought I did all I needed after talking to all the other people

so far I think I have

But if I did make a "mistake" thats all it was

I will correct that if there is one.....so far the 4-5 people I talked with at the Aquaculture and Nc fishery departments dont have any info for me

the guy called me back his name was David Taylor...not Moore, sorry

he said we do have some inland shrimp farms and some fish from Africa grown here

He said that he thinks that "I MAY NEED A FREE" permit like they have

some type of Aquaculture operation collection permit he called it

no one in NC has a permit for ornamental marine aquaculture that he knows "YET" in NC, I guess I'll be the first :)

He transfered me to another guy....I left another voice mail

keep ya posted

The fish he is talking about is most likely Tilapia Farms. There is another guy on RC who applied for an aquaculture permit in NC and they want to test each shipment he receives and sends out to make sure its "Disease Free". The only way to do this is to kill the fish. This poor guy is just a Clownfish Breeder.

The guy said it was required for retailers and wholesalers in NC too but that they do not enforce it for anyone but the aquaculture facilities.

good thing I'm not breeding fish

when the guy calls me that issues the permit I will post his reply

David Taylor is in the same office as him and he said all I should need(if any) is that free permit
what ever it takes "it will happen"
