well enough gresh,I am not pressing religion just curious how to tap into any potential fundings, I have alot to learn on differant religions

After musing on my posting last night, I realized I made an error...

If you are white, it doesn't matter if you are Christian or Muslim... Don't visit the militant areas of Jolo. An Islamic American was kidnapped there before... Religion, in that sense, doesn't matter. You are (probably) white, and very much Amerikano, so you are a target regardless...

One of the MAC personnel confessed to me that he is scared to visit Tawi-tawi with one other MAC person because they are tall and very light-skinned... Filipino or not...

Regards.

Yup, my white arse is staying outa those locations as well :D There is no mistaking me for a local there unfortunatly. Times like this, I wish I tanned instead of burning. Not as bad as an Irish roofer, but close :D

those who you get funding from are those you are responsible to, and are percieved as being belonging to....

Mike writes;
"One of the MAC personnel confessed to me that he is scared to visit Tawi-tawi with one other MAC person because they are tall and very light-skinned... Filipino or not... "

This situation is predictable and when Lino, the MAC guy for years first laid out the Tawi Tawi plan, I was taken aback.
I couldn't imagine how silly a plan it was and coming from a Filipino no less. Then again, the CIA had cash on the table for it and being a very money minded group, they went for it.
Lino wanted us to train there under the MAC/CORL/AMDA accord that was forming.
I told him it was nuts, outta line and not intelligent....I also told him I was against it and that they should train where cyanide collectors actually need the training.
Training new people to impact the reef just to get money was a violation of their own mission of conversion and reform.
But MAC people never listen it seemed and Mark may well be the first one that does. Then again, hes the first one from the trade who knows a fish from a chicken, and thats a start.
Yes...the ability to deign pescado from pollo....better then nothing I guess.
Oh what low standard this standards group has as they poke at it, feint at it and 'give it a shot'.
Good thing theres no emergency, eh Kalk?
Steve
