It only takes one good exporter. From the spam we've gotten, I'd gather to say a new exporter is in play ;)

Kinda hard when it's from Nigeria. Gettting exporters spam from Nigeria sure makes it sound fishy.
Hello sir, you don't know me, but, my father was the President of Nigeria. He had 20 million us in a bank account, and some good quality, well packed fish/inverts. If you send us your bank account # and airport of choice, we'll deposit the money and send you fish/inverts, good packed :D

i believe they use nets :P

there are 4 countries bordering the lake, (Burundu, Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia)the lake is fished mainly for food-the ornamental side of the collection is most likely very very minimal

i do know that at least one country has a total piece limit on harvest for ornamentals for export (app 75,000 specimens limit/yr/operation-this does not mean that's what's caught)

most of the africans sold today in most lfs's are captive bred anyway, AFAIK

90% or better of the victorian haps are captive bred, simply because the idjit brits :P wiped them all (those 90%) out in the wild, in the process of trying to impress and conquer a natural resource with sheer ignorance and stupidity for the good ol' queen :x

The supplier I'm referring to is offerring herps, fresh and marine, all from Nigeria good packed and healthy :D They only offer the best ;)

Like I said, his dad was the Oil Minister of Nigeria, died, and left $40 in a defunct bank account. They'll need your account to transfer the money into, then they'll give you half

I'm talking about marine fish. Two lists that I got in last weekend had fish from Kenya on it. Just was wondering if there was anything special about them.

Dunno, but I've always been partial to a few species from here. I brought in a bunch this week, they are all doing, and selling, quite well.

Rover,
Kenya has been a long time shipper.
And with one of the higher frieght rates in the world.
Importers used to be their market but now they...and others spam everyone with an email adress.
If you order an XL crysurus it may come in landed at $140 dollars fish.....[fish and frieght and box and asst charges.]
If you order 2 and one dies....often the case....then the one live one will effectively "land" you at $280 .
This is why many opportunites to import Kenya fish are given a pass.
But, like JT said, things may also come in good depending on the shipper.
