I need to catch a fish and I have tried everything, the problem is that I had catched this fish twice with the same trap and now my fish is not interested anymore.

There has to be a way to anesthetize fish, I have read about clove oil but it can affect the whole tank then I think: there has to be a chemical that mixed with the food can anesthesize our fish. Something like the pills we put in a sausage for our dogs when we travel by airplane with them, can I use the same pills? sounds crazy but I found a book that have the subject in its index (oral anesthesia for fish) but this book cost 170 bucks!... so the idea is not a very crazy

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies... this morning when the fish were sleeping I took some rocks out close where the affected fish sleep and place a wall of egg crate to divide the tank in two sections, I took some rocks out from the very small section and voila! Now is in a cage waitting for its treatment.

I had tried the hook before with a tiny hook but I guess I'm not a good fisherman because the fish found the way to still the food bitting little by little to avoid the hook...smart fish! And the mirror thing is a good idea I will try it next time.

Thanks again
