The information contained on that site is lallo-like. Here is some live rock that grew on a bottle. I don't know the exact age of the bottle, but it doesn't appear to be very old. It had at least a 3" thick layer of live rock.

Take a look at this site
http://www.reefguardian.org/WhyCare/FijiLiveRock.html

This is an interesting site. Some of the info seems questionable to me.
there is an E-mail link on the bottom of the page. I questioned some of the info myself but haven't recieved a response yet.

It is nice to see things developing on the reeeform front.

Please take the time to sign the petition and share it with your many friends.

Thanks

My "many" friends don't agree with making the reefs off limits for no good reason.

live rock is proven to be a renewable resource-it isn't igneous rock ;)

the only reason why it's banned for collection at all (read: florida) is due to invalid reasons given in shouting matches to congress from ignorami like wayne

Vitz, do not call people names! It has never done anything to further intelligent discussion on this forum. We are each entitled to state our opinions here and frankly, when you resort to name calling, it weakens YOUR argument.-Jim

huh?

show me how calling into view a person's continued ignorance on the very subject they keep talkin' 'bout is even vaguely construe-able as being remotely like 'name calling'

wayne is making an ignorant statement, he usually makes ONLY ignorant statements, and he chooses to remain ignorant

how is he NOT a member of the ignorami, and how is calling someone ignorant a 'name calling' ?

being ignorant isn't good or bad- it means 'uneducated about something'

mebbe you're reading a name into the term ignorami that really isn't there (?)

now, if i called wayne a gobbledywocker, or a splifterenfrimouser, or some such, or even a smelly canuck, i could see name calling being called into play, but i've made no such statements (regardless of how smelly or not wayne might be). :P

You know if you were really smart you'd put that sucker up on eBay as a "TRIPLERARE - ONE TIME ONLY - LIMITED EDITION LIVE ROCK/COMBO HERMIT HOME"

I think $80 a pound sounds about right

Actually, you're right. I just looked up ignorant and there is no prejorative attached to the definition. Please pardon my error.-Jim, now slightly less ignorant.

In an effort to become slightly less ignorant today:

I somehow had the impression that the Fijian govt takes a pretty keen interest in the use of its marine resources... - Is that not true?

(Course, as Vitz pointed out about FL collection, it doesn't take much to steer govt in the wrong direction, but I had the impression that maybe they were a tad more on the ball with MO issues over there than we are here..)
