Why is it that every time Race posts, I feel like he's treating us all like the "great unwashed?" :roll:

FYI: this is how people who post here for the first time seeking information about 'behind the scenes' in the industry sometimes feel they are treated by the regulars.

This is not to single Jenn out at all, she just posted something many seem to feel.

I fail to see what relevance this has to the thread... but whatever.

Since we're hijacked now, I'll say that I've never behaved that way to a newb asking honest info but I'm blatently honest about it. I don't have much patience for wannabes who have eyeballed a tranship list or a wholesale invoice and get dollar signs in their eyes thinking they'll be the next tycoon without grunting in the trenches like the rest of us did first.

There's a difference between an honest inquiry and the next wannabe tycoon landing in here telling us all how it should be done...and the latter *does* get condescending responses - usually from condescending comments.

It is relevant to this forum. Many feel fine treating others the way they don't like to be treated, and this seemed like a good spot to point that out.

I didn't feel singled out, nor did I imply it - I simply addressed it, since it was my initial comment that was put to task.

I know how I treat others - and even when I'm feeling particularly punchy I maintain the rules of decorum here and other places (although I've been known to push that envelope on occasion when common sense, logic and any knowledge of the trade is lacking on the part of the poster), so I'm not feeling insecure about it either. Just wondered what it had to do with the topic at hand?

Those of us posting in this thread, who are a part of the trade, aren't newbies, to either the forum, OR the trade, so it's not a very good parallel, IMO.

I don't know if I am even talking about newbies, just people new to this forum or RDO. I think it is a good example because people are expressing distaste with they way they feel they are being talked to in this thread, and in the past others have expressed distaste with the way others, who aren't newbies to the forum or the trade, have talked to them in this forum.

hey thanks Gresham, but the saga continues on.... getting even better....

in the mean time, i have to get to work. maybe working with collectors and an exporter or two to get net caught/high quality fish.......
