Anyone know anything about these guys? I just read about it in the August issue of Pet Product News and about the only thing the article says is it is headed by David Vosseler. Their website is http://www.craag.org/
Wow,
Look at the picture on their web site. I count like 23 cleaner wrasses and no other fish for them to clean. Maybe those are false cleaners. That's an interesting futuristic look at how a reef might look when all the aquarium hardy fish have been targeted and removed.
Steven,
Go by and have a visit with Burton Patrick if you want to learn more.
As the IMA enabled and paved the way for MAC...
It would seem now that CRAAG seeks take the baton from MAC.
They would however be taking the baton from a runner still in the starting blocks .
This is significant as it seems sure they can not do any worse.
Steve
FWIW Dave Vosseler is a stand up guy that was held down by during his MAC term. He's got a few pots in the fire and all of them are very inline with what I think are good deals for both industry and sustainability.
CRAAG was a private importers front group...to give some green credentiials that MAC was supposed to but couldn't deliver.
The company was frustrated with MACs inability to deliver year after year and hoped to make their own supply and annoint it with a paper trail of their own.
This private company created and funded NGO is now gone.
Unlike many NGOs....private company fabricated ones must show results quickly...or be shut down. Real business people have a serious issue with burning money to no avail.
Like SCUBA certification...we will see more fish certification authorities spring up as MACs no fish certification scheme falls by the wayside.
