I was just wondering about everyones buisness here and hows it been going? I have been decently slow and wondering if its the fear of recession or what?

Normal warm weather slowdown + fear of recession= less people setting up tanks.

When it gets warm people don't hang out with their tanks as much. Winter is the "good time" for most areas. Who wants to go to a humid 80 degree store when it's 90 outside?

Spring slowdown is certainly not unusual, but the rising costs of gas, energy, food, and virtually everything else, may extend the pain this Summer. Then again people may want to enjoy their fish tank at home while they go out less, and cancel expensive driving vacations. Time will tell. Just be careful how you spend your money and wait it out.

Grosse hasn't changed much for us in the last 6 months but sales of large setup are way down; those little things really add up.

Pretty good here in Tucson, Large setup are actually looking ok here but I am thinking summer will dry up a lot of those. in process of doubling the size of my store, landlord could not rent the space next to me and i got a heck of a deal. Been looking to move up in size for quite some time.

Remember this is an election year. For many election years mean less sales until late fall.

Livestock sales continue to be good.
Dry-goods sales are fair.
Tanks sales erratic but generally poor.
Service is OK.

Livestock sales down 20% over last year, tank and hard good sales up since tax returns hit and seem to be holding with the rebate checks coming.
