Im trying to decide what light i need to get for a 425 xl redsea tank. I currently have one one ai 16 light from 2020 on it that i have been running on it. I was thinking whether to get two new 2 generation nicrew 150 light . Or two black boxs like the wills or the viparspectra 165 w. Or spend a little more for the hydra edge 44 and by one for now and have the ai 16 and edge on the tank .My Idea is to put the ai in the middle and the two new ones on the ends. Or take the ai light and put it in the sump for a refugium light. And then just have the two new lights on top.

Im buying lights on a buget of low 200 to high 600. So could use any advice.

My #1 choice of bang for your buck.

Meso Blue (Blues) 47" and a Reef Crest (daylight spectrum)- only has the 35" in stock.

You could grow just about anything with these- just need an open top since they are not cooled by a fan. There's currently no app or controller (can run off 0-10V controller port) but you get outstanding quality and could just put on a timer or use the dials to control.

I run a pair of each of the MB and RC and love them. Any new tank I get will have them on there. Luca (the owner of Quanta Lights) is working on a flat panel but not sure when it will be available.

I didn't either until watching a video on YouTube. No marketing other than word of mouth.
Polo Reef has a whole system running with just Quanta Lights (and they likely have a much larger lighting budget than I do).

I also own Kessil, Ecotech and AI lights and these are the ones I would buy first on a new tank.

Yes, I looked up reviews and all around looks like it's being used in the commercial reefing industry because of the coral growth. Also ai said they are better quality and performance. then nicrew and are used by pro reefers. I wanted to do the coral light packs but they are sold out. I think im going to buy 2 maso blues for now and a 4 bar light rack. That way i can order the next two lights once it is back in stock. Do you know if they are any discount codes floating around?
