Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to alert everyone that the clubs next meeting is Friday June 1st. This is the last meeting before our summer break, July is our off month, August is Family Fun Day with the collecting trip in September before we return in October.

This months speaker will be Christine Williams, her talk will be about [FONT=&quot]Bacteria in reef aquaria. More info on Christine can be found on the clubs website www.longislandreef.org.

Doors open at 7:30.

You can arrange to buy from some members prior and meet at the swap.. There is also an auction at the end of the night if you can last till the end! The Auction is made up of items donated that night. Some quality stuff!

Meetings are usually the first Friday of the month in Commack. we break during the summer. Membership inf is on the the LIRA site. www.longislandreef.org/

They sell frags at LIRA meetings?

Many members will post what they have for sale before the meetings, this is mostly on RC though.
The club also holds an auction at the end of the meeting, some frags have sold for as little as $5.

were is the meeting and how does membership work?

Like mentioned the meetings are in Commack, right off the LIE; Acan Lighting generously allows us to use their offices.

The club hosts a few events free to its members throughout the year outside of the monthly meetings; Family Fun Day (a free day at Long Island Aquarium), the annual collecting trip for tropical strays and our Holiday Party. We also host out own conference dubbed NERAC (North East Reef Aquarium Conference), this is the only pay event where we bring in 3 to 4 speakers and a multitude of vendors (both dry and live goods).

Do you have to register online, or can you register at the meeting? I was on the site recently and don't have my Pp setup yet.

You can register at the meetings, cash or check only though.
