Thanks, Martin. Any knowledge or experience with Addison's Larval Feed as a first food for clown larvae? Thanks in advance....take care....Chris
  3. perculas known to be jumpers?

obviously most fish CAN jump, but percs are HARDCORE jumpers....however, there may have been some pecking order "picking on" going on if the female was chasing the male around and got him to take the ultimate leap.....just an idea....chris
  4. Help me choose a clownfish, everyone!

If you LOVED your tomato, get another one. However, if you didn't go for something new! My personal favorites: 1) Ocellaris (or perc) 2) Maroon (gold or white) 3) Clark's Good luck and enjoy your new clown... chris

  6. Dead turbo....take it or leave it

IMHO, TAKE IT OUT. Decaying stuff can lead to algae problems....it's happened to me before (with snails). Learn from my mistake and take it out. There's really no reason to leave it in, anyway. My 2 cents.... Chris

Anyone know anything about the dry "Addison's Larval Feed" as a first food for ocellaris clown larvae? JD Wilkerson mentioned initial research gave some positive results. Anyone tried it or know someone that has? Thanks. Chris

Can I throw you a baby shower? Definitely get the Wilkerson book if you have any interest in one day raising them. I want to breed/raise ocellaris clowns. I am jealous!!! Congratulations, mommy! Chris

  11. Ocellaris Breeding Question

Greetings fellow reefers, For the last year or so, I have studied the possibility of breeding ocellaris clowns. At this point, I feel extremely well-read and ready to begin. Because money is scarce, my broodstock set-up won't have all the bells and whistles, but let me know what you all think...
  12. Distilled water OK?

So when I call a water distillation company, I should ask if they used a glass system (as opposed to a metal system) and whether they have copper/brass or any other metals in their water? Anything else I should specifically ask about? Thank you. Chris
  13. Eggs gone bad?

Greetings Pensacola friend, I used to live in Navarre just down the road! I miss the P-cola area. I assume that you KNOW the eggs are dead? The reason I ask is because clown eggs turn from the red/orange color to a darker brown/black (what you're seeing is the eyes developing through the...
  14. Distilled water OK?

Good tips. Do you know if there is a way to find out how the water is distilled (besides calling the companies)? Thanks...Chris
  15. Ocellaris Breeding Inquiry

JD Wilkerson mentions in her book a dry larval first food...."Addison's Larval Feed"....developed by bill addison at c-quest (she mentions ocellaris clowns are particularly capable at surviving with it as a first food). I understand that rotifers are THE way to go, but IF (given my cramped...
