All I know is my fish people told me to stop adding calcium; the reactor would cover the calcium as well as other trace minerals except for iodine. I still add iodine.
My tank crashed several of months ago and I ended up losing most everything. I then ended up with a huge hairy algae attack. Since then I have had some professional water changes.
I have been making my own water for water changes the past few months so I can make more frequent water changes...
