What are the best critters for a deep sand bed? I need help with what type of starfish, sea cumcumbers and any other important items I'm missing. I ordered a detrivore kit from ipsf 6 months ago. The bristle worms have established themselves but not much else that I can tell.
What fish shop has the best detrivore kit? I have tried ispf but they had very small portions for the money. How long does it take for a 50 gallon tank that is five inches deep (pure argonite) to establish quality filtration from the sand?
I have a 50 gallon Aquasystem with a cpr bak pak. The live rock I've had for over 3 years. There is one clown fish in the tank which I feed formula one. There is no type of filtration besides the live rock, protein skimmer and the sandbed.

Which skimmer would be better a CPR bakpak reef or the Aqua C Remora?
This is for a 40 gallon tru vu aquasystem with 70lbs of live rock and one clown fish. There are a few snails and hermits.
I put the phosphate sponge in. We will see if it helps at all. :? I also added some phytoplankton for the mandarin goby. I heard that may contribute to algae outbreaks. I use DT's phytoplankton.
:) I use Glacier water from an industrial size RO system with 0 ppm. I have been actively removing the green hair algae and removed the biowheel, filter floss and activated carbon. I have kent phosphate sponge so I will also give that a try. Thanks wombat for everything. We will hook up...
