  2. Bare Bottom

    It's where you apply a thin layer of sand on the bottom with some epoxy or other method. That way the bottom will look like sand but you can go full blast on the circulation.

    I pulled out my Tunze 9002 today, it wasn't really skimming much so I figured I might as well take it out and see how it does skimmerless. If I start getting increased algal growth it's going right back on :)
