I have been kicking around the idea of the sump setup for an upcoming tank and need some input. I attached a diagram. Sorry about the lame drawing. Do you think this will work? Also, any recommendations on modifications or pump size would be great. The sump will be under a standard Oceanic 120...

One a month, I take the impellar apart and scrap any salt/calcium deposits and soak the entire powerhead in white vinegar for a few hours. This works out well. I have 4 maxijets and clean them one at a time so that I don't create too much of a disturbance to the tank.

D.W.L. Do you have a pic? What size tank are you running this setup on? Are you using any supplemental lighting (VHO/PC)?

I am planning on upgrading to a 120 gallon reef (48x24x24) this spring and can't decide on a ballast. I'm sure there will be something better between now and then, but thought I would start kicking around ideas now. I am pretty sure that I will run dual 400watt Radiums. These are the ballasts...

I have read from a post that if you put these type of light fixtures any closer than 9" from the surface the water temperature will raise to an undesired temperature. Sorry, I can't find the post to link for you. :?

What is "The Aquaspacelight Fixture" and where can I find it?

:?: I am planning on setting up a 75g reef tank. I will be keeping LPS and possibly a few SPS and clams. The question is how much lighting. Would 2 250w MH and 2 65w PC be too much? Would 2 175w and 2 65w PC be not enough? Not really sure which way to go.
