im gonna set up a 240 gal and move everything from my 100 gal reef and 20 gal refugium. i plan to 1st move the 4" DSB from refugium (~100 lbs) into the 240 gal filled with water and with 3.5" DSB (400#) (new southdown). will also add about 100-150 lbs of cured LR in there... (for 2-3 weeks...

liverocks aren't very great for bacteria growth anyways...if i were yu, i would get limestone for base rocks and stack the liverocks on top. but definitely get lots of sand and make a Deep sand bed (at least 4"). the sand will give yu all the bacteria yu need.

just been wonderin... some of my corals get a little moody sometimes, even when my water is fine. sometimes they shrink for no reason and then open up 10 minutes later. this is usually few hours before lights go out at night. Does your coral do that? some of my xenias been pulsing all...
